II · Does it survive? Where to read it
Survives in fragments
The surviving mythological handbook (Bibliotheca) once credited to him is by a later writer.
Was it in Alexandria?
Known · ProbableProbably held in the Library. By an Alexandrian-trained scholar, probably written after he left the city around 145 BCE.
In the cupboard: no source names the Alexandrian copy, but its scholars' use of it makes one very likely.
