The underground galleries

Known · ExcavatedExistence: ExcavatedKnown · ExcavatedLocation: ExcavatedKnown · ExcavatedForm: Excavated

Rock-cut passages with niches beneath the temple, probably for the cult, comparable with the galleries of the Serapeum at Saqqara.

The evidence: Excavated and published by Botti and Rowe. The popular idea that the daughter library was kept here has no ancient support.

Within The Serapeum.
